The time she worked as a reporter at The Washington Post was spent with several Olympics, Grand Slam Tennis as well as basketball and football. Nichols started a nine-year stint with ESPN where she was awarded two Emmy Awards, and featured in a variety of ESPN's most popular programs like NFL Countdown and SportsCenter. Over the course of 42 years of the award, it was the first time that a woman had been in the list of 200+ nominees.
